In 1995, I ended my 16-year career at the National Police Agency in order to succeed my father as a president of Okamoto Glass Co., Ltd. Since then, I began to learn ABCs of specialty glass industry, and have developed management gropingly. With support of employees and concerned parties, we achieved remarkable growth to the ‘Only-one company’ as typified by 3 top share of the world market: Multi-lens with approx. 75%, reflecting mirror with 64.9%, which are respectively for the use of projectors, and dental mirror with approx. 72%. Chemistry between glass with nearly same composition of geosphere and light is outclassing in ‘transmission’ and ‘refraction’. Glass is ultimate eco material born from and return to the earth without 3R (Recycle, Reuse, and Reduce), which is precisely 21st material.
Graduated from the University of Tokyo Faculty of Law in 1980, and had started career in the National Police Agency. Held the head of crime squad 2 of the Hokkaido Police Department, consul of the Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Investigator of International Affairs Division of the National Police Agency including overseas education at the University of Freiburg in Germany. After resignation from the head of criminal investigations at the Saitama Police Department, succeeded to Okamoto Glass Co., Ltd., because of the death of the former president in November, 1995.
We will lead “Scientific Optics Age” through our “New Glass” and “Thin film” technologies and keep providing inspired products and services for the clients in the world.
